Hey guys, I was checking the hardware details and noticed something about my 7800x3d Enhanced. It mentioned a setting called Precision Boost Overdrive in the BIOS, and it says it’s set to auto. I wondered if turning it off would help keep the CPU cooler. Disabling it might switch to AMD stock settings and reduce the boost. Could be useful if you want lower temperatures. Let me know what you think.

Hey everyone, I was checking the hardware details and noticed something in the BIOS for my 7800x3d Enhanced. It mentioned a setting called Precision Boost Overdrive, which I think is related to overclocking. I saw it set to auto, but I wonder if turning it off would help keep the CPU cooler. Disabling it might force the use of AMD stock and prevent further overclocking. Please let me know what you think.

The settings displayed show what Ryzen Master is running. Enabling PBO without a specific profile might lead to problems, but it can be turned off. The program should show if a performance profile is active. These top AMD CPUs don't require overclocking for good performance. None of mine need it, and I've experienced consistent results.

You don't need Ryzen Master if you already have it installed.

It depends on how the system is configured, but checking if it's enabled through the BIOS settings can confirm whether it qualifies as enabled.

This essentially indicates you can activate a profile using Ryzen Master. Think about the ECO option if it exists. It will reduce heat and power usage, which may slightly affect gaming performance, though it's not significant.

If you switch from the Ryzan Master to something else, is it similar to changing from Bios? Or should you just turn it off?

Ensure PBO is off in your BIOS if you don't want to change the original settings. If left unchanged, you may use Ryzen Master to adjust or enable profiles.
