There is a power outage and the computer does not start.
Hey everyone!
Lately I experienced a power cut a few days back, and since then my PC won't boot. When I press the power button on both the case and the motherboard, the physical button lights up red, and the debug LED begins showing some confusing code. The motherboard lights come on, but the debug display is only partially illuminated—just the bottom section lights up. I’m not sure what the actual code means. Also, no other fans (CPU cooler, case, or GPU) are spinning or lighting up.
What I’ve tried so far:
- Swapped power cables
- Tested the GPU on another system
- Checked RAM on another system
- Reset CMOS manually and via the back panel button
- Re-seated the RAM
- Got a new PSU (still having issues)
- Changed BIOS settings using the motherboard switch
- Tried safe boot through the motherboard button
My main guesses are that the problem might be with the CPU or the motherboard itself—probably the latter. I just wanted to ask if anyone has any advice or considerations before purchasing a new motherboard. Could it be a dead CMOS battery? Might my old PSU have failed along with the motherboard and CPU? How likely is it that a power outage could cause this?

However, you might be able to understand what the POST code shows. If it’s unclear, consider uploading your image to a platform like Imgur and sharing the link here for our review.
If the problem lies with your PSU, try sourcing another solid 850W or higher power supply from someone else and check if that resolves the issue.
