There is a concern about the Steam gift key scam.
I purchased CSGO roughly a week ago, but the Steam gift didn’t work. The message said there was an issue redeeming it and suggested trying again later or contacting Steam Support. Now I received a refund and bought another key. The gift link ended with the seller’s email address in the “reedemer=” part. If I copy and paste that, should it automatically send the gift to the seller? Also, when I bought the current key, I didn’t include that email at the end. The seller seemed unsure or trying to trick me—he provided a link with activation instructions, which I already knew how to use. He mentioned he’d check Steam for me but didn’t respond directly.
It came from a marketplace buyer—maybe only one Steam gift key was faulty, or the seller made a mistake. Not sure for certain.
It seems the main focus is on questionable sources, with many stolen items being a common issue. Maybe try contacting them for a refund and see if they respond.
