Does this occur when a GPU is also installed? Have you checked if the Tesla functions in another system? What operating system are you using on this device? I recommend a complete reset of the motherboard. The original default settings were applied. No changes or adjustments made. This should assist with the issue?

If Tesla M10 is installed, this so-called "update" occurs each time. Immediately after turning off the device, I encounter the same problem. However, rebooting multiple times or disabling USB drives usually resolves it. The system then boots normally.

Oracle Linux 9 works, but I believe it doesn't matter since the POST fails during the update. Without the Tesla M10, the system boots as expected (after several reboots to reset the intention of the "update" LED). This issue hasn't occurred with this system since 2018, when I first purchased it (initially as a PC). It only happened during the installation of the M10 yesterday.

I plan to attempt an update to the BIOS to the latest version. However, the motherboard and GPU are both outdated, so this might not help. The update should also reset the BIOS settings.

Check the system after the BIOS update and restart.

Considering the Tesla's age, there could be some hidden compatibility problems. Do you have another PC that can make the Tesla work?

At least the system recognizes it and can load the driver for it. I haven't verified if it functions properly yet.

What are the specifications of that test PC?
I'm looking to identify the details.
Was there a manual setting for the PCIe version in the BIOS?
Which additional PCIe devices are present in the planned setup?

i-9900k, ddr4, mini-itx mobo. I don't remember brand of mobo, probably Asrock or MSI. The only pcie device there - m2 wifi. And integrated GPU (in the CPU)
In the test system, no. Same for main system. I'll try to do it
2 x m2 NVME drives(Samsung), AMD R7 240 passive-cooling GPU. I'm going to use there PCie SATA extension card, but during tests, I extracted it. Also, it still has a lot of SATA disks connected to it (because it can take a lot of time to disconnect and reconnect it back).

Check page 3-14 of the mobo user manual. Consider altering the CPU PCIE Link Mode to gen 3 initially. If that doesn't work, try gen 2. Also, review page 3-21 to verify the slot assigned for your R7 240 is correctly set for the GPU Post Bus Interface. The system might be attempting to use the Tesla as a device.

Nothing provides relief
🙁
Perhaps alternative, more extreme measures might be necessary? I believe miners face comparable issues with POST. Maybe I could temporarily bypass the VGA after the system starts, and then (through an internal script) make Linux (which runs Kubernetes on this home server) re-scan the PCI device?
Also, I've tested various PCI x8 slots.
Additionally, the Tesla M10 functions on three different PCs, but not with the X399-A motherboard.
