History: My PC was assembled in January 2019. I always used 1080p monitors at 60 or 75Hz. Even then, my second screen would flicker when turning on or during regular use. The problem stemmed from faulty wiring and a lack of proper earthing connections to the system. By 2022, I upgraded to a 144Hz model, but the same issues persisted—especially when fans were activated, causing the monitor to shut down briefly. Recently, cleaning the PC, replacing the CPU fan, and updating drivers resolved the power-related shutdowns. However, I’ve experienced three BSODs recently, with crashes occurring randomly. The PC tends to close under heavy tasks like Steam. After installing fresh drivers, the crash frequency dropped.

The problem seems to appear every time I start a game, accompanied by strange notification sounds about devices plugging in and unplugging. My monitor also reacts similarly during extended gaming sessions. The occurrence varies by game—some last longer than others.

Here’s a summary of games and how often the screen toggled:
1. Halo MCC - H2A – after firing the scrab gun for over two seconds (Halo 2 Skulls on).
2. Forza Horizon 4 – stable performance, no monitor issues.
3. Valhalla – occasional activation every 30 minutes.
4. World of Tanks – intermittent every 45 minutes or sometimes every 10 minutes.
5. Hitman: Blood Money – every 20 minutes during streaming.
6. 7 Days to Die – once per minute.

It seems the issue is tied to specific games and usage patterns.

Diagnosing the cause involves checking:
- GPU performance under load
- Monitor responsiveness and power draw
- Wiring integrity and grounding
- Driver compatibility with 144Hz settings
- Background applications during intensive tasks

The monitor’s behavior appears linked to game-specific stress, possibly exacerbated by the new hardware or driver changes.

That's following up on Running Forza Horizon 4 for about four minutes, with an average of 90 frames per second because it's raining inside the game.
