I have a video file made by my editing program and I want to make it smaller without losing much quality using a tool called Handbrake. Does compression work on this kind of video? It has a bitrate of 8000 kbps, 720p at 60 frames per second, and is about sixteen minutes long. If I set the compression slider to Medium or Slow or even Slower (which would take like a day and destroy the purpose since uploading the video will take that long anyway in the first place) can I reduce the size? Or am I going to end up with blocky artifacts everywhere? Does that make sense? Using any slider value makes sense at all and works? Or is it just waste of time? I used H265 with NVIDIA acceleration which rendered it fast, but the compression sliders are different than normal H265. All slider values I tested ended up almost the same size. So do I need to use normal H264 without hardware acceleration or H265? There are no Medium Slow or Slower slider values in GPU acceleration. H265 actually cuts the size in half? Is this work at all or waste of time?

Hey there, so instead of making my videos longer or bigger, I'll just trim them down to be shorter and save space. Sure enough, that means taking out about half the video time, but hey, it's okay with the rest. If you don't want this thread anymore, go ahead and hit delete on your end; no worries there. Problem solved!

I decided to make some edits on my videos to shorten them and shrink their size. I'll chop the clips in half just like that. It's not a big deal though, and hey, feel free to close up here if you want, everything is set now.
