It's hard to picture Windows 10 needing that much space because it's designed to be lightweight and efficient, using minimal storage for its core functions.

It depends mainly on the size of your Windows 7 installation. What matters most is the amount of space it occupies, not just the current need. A fresh setup will use significantly less room, though the Windows directory will expand gradually.

The device comes with a 64GB storage, which is acceptable. I think 32 could have been the lowest requirement for Win8.

Only when you allocate ample room does Windows consume less space.

A key aspect that consumes backup space is the restore points, which are based on percentage rather than a fixed amount. The bigger your drive, the more restore points you'll need. After drivers are installed and updated, Windows typically requires around 8GB of storage. This estimate assumes you disable restore points and remove all update installers.
