Hello! I've been working with rock motherboards for a long time and really enjoyed them. Until recently, I ran an Intel 8700K at 5GHz with Corsair RGB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, a 1080Ti 750W Corsair CS750M PSU, and it worked well for about two years. Recently, my CPU began freezing and overheating. I replaced the stock parts and even after an OCCT AVX2 test, my PC still got very hot—around 95°C on stock settings. I've checked the thermal paste, but it didn't help. My Kraken X53 seems to be struggling with the heat. I noticed some oil on the power phase caps—could that be contributing to the overheating? I've attached some pictures for reference.
On the picture it seems much more filthy! After checking, I think I’ll take a look and give it some care afterward—I’ve got air at my place to clear out the dust! These probably belong to the VRMs... I’m not sure about the cooler, but my temps are really high. I use OCCT bench and MSI afterburner to monitor, and it’s surprising how a regular processor can reach such high speeds. In NZXT cam (cooling settings), it shows idle at 35°C, liquid at 31, fans around 1000 RPM, and the Kraken X pump spins at 2600 RPM—no pump sound at all. It’s completely silent. I’m not sure how to verify if everything is working properly.
