Gpu amd 6950 paired with xtx cpu amd 5900x, 2x32gb ram. Game freezes into black screen and forces restart only in costume select menu consistently. The remainder of the game runs smoothly with ray tracing on low settings. Other titles like cyberpunk 2077 and certain travel games occasionally crash, but generally function properly. Windows often shows a black screen and restarts to BIOS before returning. Red dead redemption 2 benchmarks or during tutorial steps (like hill creation after fire) work correctly, with updates applied. BIOS is the latest non-Bata version, and XMP settings are disabled. Swapped cpus didn’t help; issue appears specific to the 6950. Any suggestions before I dig deeper for replacements?

Opened it up and noticed the IC was completely absent. The label says U1500, which is expected to be an MPS controller for voltage regulation. I'll reach out to xfx for more details. Also, the VRAM seems to be stuck in place and the thermal paste looks uneven.
