I’ve researched numerous solutions to address the significant lag I'm experiencing in The Witcher 3, but none have been effective. My system consistently suffers from substantial lag, particularly in areas beyond White Orchard, although it was initially playable with noticeable stuttering. I’ve attempted troubleshooting through the NVIDIA control panel and removed GeForce Experience, observing that launching via Steam produced identical results regardless of framerate, resolution, or VSync settings. Despite extensive troubleshooting involving restarting and adjusting numerous game settings, the lag recurs after a brief period following loading, rendering combat unplayable due to overwhelming performance issues. Even the in-game menu exhibits lag, while my desktop’s main menu remains unaffected. My cooling system is adequate, ruling out overheating as a cause, and my PC specifications are superior to those reported by many users who have resolved this problem. Any assistance would be greatly valued; thank you in advance.

SPECS:
DELL XPS 15 9570
INTEL® CORE™ i9-8950KH CPU @2.90
32GB RAM
GEFORCE GTX 1050Ti with Max Q design
1920x1080, 60Hz

Download MSI Afterburner and monitor your CPU and GPU usage while playing games. Record their usages while in the menu, White Orchard, and the area causing your most significant performance issues.

What graphics settings are you using? Low, medium, high, or ultra?

Your system isn't properly configured. You have a powerful CPU (i9) combined with a weak GPU (1050ti MQ). You will probably experience frame rate problems at high and ultra settings.

Have you attempted to use DDU to remove your current graphics driver and install the newest version?

The game settings are predominantly low, with terrain and background characters set to medium. Resolution is at 1280x720. Should I attempt a reinstall, considering my system's configuration? It seems unusual that a 2015 game is producing such problems. I will download the recommended software, thank you for the suggestion.
