Hello everyone,
I haven't played the Witcher games before, so I'm curious about them.
Should I play The Witcher 1 and 2 to grasp the story, or can I enjoy The Witcher 3 without them?

Even though it would be nice if you'd read a few books... I played w3 without knowing what a witcher was. Still enjoyed the game.
But be warned... it does have a quite challenging learning curve.

You'll meet folks from the early games. However, it's not too intense. It's way more enjoyable if you're familiar with Geralt and the world.

Witcher 2 is a solid game with decent graphics still today, it was regarded as one of the top titles upon release and only surpassed by Witcher 3 because it was seen as even more impressive.
It’s reasonable to enjoy Witcher 2, since you could easily find information online, but it wouldn’t be the same experience.
About Witcher 1, I actually played this game at launch when it was unknown to many. It looked promising but had a terrible interface and controls. The graphics were poor, and I don’t think it was playable. Witcher 2 stands apart from Witcher 1, especially compared to Witcher 3.
