Following a three-hour power interruption, when all devices were restored, our Canon printer failed to reconnect to the home WiFi network. We tried using WPS push, but it didn’t work. Checking the printer menu under Network Settings revealed that options like “Select Wired/Wireless LAN” and “Wireless LAN Settings” were grayed out, preventing selection. It might indicate a damaged network adapter or Wi-Fi card, even though the printer had been connected to a surge protector before. We performed a power cycle and reviewed the manual and Canon forums for guidance. Please advise.
P.S. – The “IEEE 802.1x Settings” option is also hidden in the Network Settings menu.

The printer should have a reset to factory settings option, either in the menu or via a button on the back, try using that. If this doesn't work, it might mean the Wi-Fi card has failed.

You can resolve the issue by navigating to Menu>Network Settings>Enable Direct Connection>OFF. Once done, restart the printer and connect via WIFI or an ethernet cable. This should fix the problem; if you encounter further issues, feel free to reach out at [email protected]
