Hello there, a couple of days ago I faced problems staying online. At first it would drop sometimes but then it would go cold—no network at all or the system wouldn’t recognize any connection. Now it seems like there’s no wireless card and even Device Manager isn’t showing anything. I’ve updated drivers, reset everything, and tried disconnecting it from the board, but nothing works. My video calls are essential and having my phone plugged in is a real hassle. Please help me fix this quickly. Thank you.

The adapter uses either M.2 or PCIe connections. Its manufacturer and model number are not specified. There appear to be some loose wires on the antenna connections, which may indicate a hardware issue requiring replacement.

I’ve taken apart several laptops before, so I understand what I’m dealing with. You’re wondering if there’s a way to tell if a component is completely failed.

The lack of recognition in Device Manager and previous disconnection issues suggest a possible hardware issue with the card. You might test the laptop on a live Linux system to confirm identification and functionality. If that doesn't resolve the problem, it strengthens the case for a hardware failure. Checking online listings for 01AX709 reveals it's a rebranded Qualcomm Atheros M.2 WiFi card (A+E keys). What model is your Lenovo device? Certain manufacturers offer easy replacement options with compatible third-party cards, while others restrict you to specific models. Try searching for "<<your laptop here>> replace wifi" or similar phrases. If a compatible third-party card works on Windows 10, consider the Intel AX200 (or its rebranded version). Even without a WiFi 6 router/AP, this adapter provides better performance and stability using only Intel drivers in a WiFi 5 setup. It's often more affordable, sometimes cheaper than buying a new card, especially on platforms like eBay.
