The Windows Media Creation Tool is experiencing issues.
Hello. I’m attempting to transfer Windows 10 onto my PC’s SSD using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. The process halts during verification, disabling the USB and showing an error without any code. I tried reaching out to their forums but couldn’t provide a phone number for verification.
Consider using a different USB stick. Some manufacturers employ Flash NAND that doesn’t always format properly with specific utilities. (For instance, my old HP USB Disk formatting software functions well with certain newer Kingston models, but it struggles with older SanDisk drives, forcing me to clean them using another method.)
Get the ISO file directly and then transfer it using another method. For example, visit the download page (https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software.../windows10), switch to iPad mode in dev settings, and download the ISO. Next, use Rufus (https://rufus.ie/) to write the ISO onto a USB drive.
Consider adding another flash drive idea and install the Media Creation tool on your USB stick, then execute it there. For an odd occurrence, a problematic flash drive suddenly functions properly. Another approach is to perform a full format (not quick) using FAT32 or NTFS before launching the tool—this also helps with certain USB drives.
