I initially thought there was a typo, but you meant 'w'—good luck being retired. I’ve got a 256GB SSD for the OS, programs, and games, plus a 1TB HDD for files and programs that don’t fit on the SSD. I also have two 2TB HDDs for backup drives. When I set this up, I didn’t have enough budget for a larger SSD or more SSDs to separate the OS from the programs. I’d really like another SSD for games and programs, but I haven’t had the funds yet. Maybe that should come next on my upgrade list.
I have ample space and might be able to install a 1TB HDD once I can afford an SSD. Alternatively, consider splitting my existing HDD into two 500GB sections until I upgrade.
You're considering splitting your storage between two 500GB partitions—one for games and one for data. That way you can save costs on a larger SSD later. Just wait until we have a backup of that drive before proceeding. Regarding your backup setup, what kind of HDDs are you using? Are they internal drives or external ones? If it's the former, how will you connect them to the computer? You should already know how to initialize and format them.
The backup units are simple drives that fit into a USB 3.0 dock. I already have the drives set up and functioning, using images of my main drives as temporary backups just in case. I’m quite comfortable with technology, but I haven’t really worked on solid backup methods or software before. This is where you can help.
