My Asus ROG Strix G513QM laptop freezes for 30-40 minutes after startup into Windows and eventually crashes with a BSOD into a hypervisor error. I've tried factory resetting, updating drivers, and using the driver verifier, but nothing resolved the issue. The driver verifier still reported a hypervisor error. Before attempting a factory reset, it froze indefinitely until I performed a hard reset via the power button. I've attached the DMP file from C:\Windows for your reference.

BugCheck: [
HYPERVISOR_ERROR (20001)

Likely due to memory corruption (Process: dwm.exe)
System status: 0 Day(s), 0 Hour(s), 05 Min(s), 39 Sec(s)
Comment: Multiple RAM types installed; check if both sticks were included
Specs: 8192MB, 3200MHz, Samsung M471A1G44AB0-CWE, Micron Technology 4ATF1G64HZ-3G2E2
Process name: victim
DWM.exe is Windows Desktop Manager; it acts as a bridge between apps and GPU drivers... let's investigate there.
attempt to update GPU drivers -
https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-strix/2..._download/
or use MyAsus for updates
notice AMD & Nvidia drivers are available... AMD was the focus, but I searched elsewhere since Asus stopped support a year ago -

I highly recommend taking out the RAM stick you installed and checking it on a single stick at a time. It might work fine individually, but combining them could lead to issues. Ensure all your RAM sticks match the same part number for optimal performance.

I inquired whether it's typical for laptops to include two distinct brands during assembly.

I refreshed both NVidia and AMD drivers and switched back to Windows 10 to see if it would freeze. It still does, though it no longer causes a blue screen; it freezes until a hard restart occurs. This happens every 10 to 20 minutes. When I leave the display on without using the laptop, it usually doesn't freeze. It tends to freeze only when I use the touchpad and interact with the laptop. I haven't touched the RAM, so it should be factory-safe. I added a WD SSD, but I'm not sure it would affect things since Windows is installed on the original drive.

I reinstalled Windows 11 again and updated the AMD drivers, but the freeze persisted. A memtest86 scan revealed no issues. Windows updates sometimes overwrite the Radeon drivers with an older version, so I turned off updates temporarily to get the latest drivers. The problem still occurs randomly without any warning until a hard restart. It's strange that the laptop lights work and the screen turns off when the lid is closed. When I reopen the screen, it powers on again but the laptop remains frozen. I haven't found a way to unfreeze it except by restarting through the power button. No BSOD was seen, just repeated freezes. Please help, this has been a persistent issue.

curious, attempt running in safe mode to check if freezing persists... drivers won't function, but if it freezes only during certain actions, those drivers might be the issue.

go to settings/system/recovery
next to advanced startup, click restart now
this restarts the PC through a blue menu
select troubleshoot
advance to advanced options
select startup settings
click the restart button
select safe mode (any number will work)
the PC will restart and enter safe mode
possibly the touchpad drivers are the cause.

I attempted safe mode but it crashed after ten minutes. The whole screen freezes, including the YouTube video you were watching, indicating the issue isn't limited to the touchpad.

Freezing in both Windows 10 and 11 with safe mode... seems like a hardware issue.
How long has this been happening?
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics
Memory: 16GB mixed RAM, standard configuration
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
Storage: 512GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 SSD
The rest is mounted on the motherboard... the GPU is included too.
Uncertain if the problem is related to NVMe, it could be something else...
I tried running CrystalDiskInfo (Blue icons) – https://crystalmark.info/en/
It will automatically scan all drives without any action needed.
Software tests aren’t perfect and can’t confirm physical faults like a controller chip issue.
