Hey guys. So, for example I have a file named Rage-Zoom-Greenscreen-effect.mp4 The file is stored in a big folder where I have various green screen effects. I use windows search to quickly get to the file I need. So, when I type "Zoom" in windows search bar I expect the search to show me every file that has a word "zoom" in its name. But I see " No items match your search "... It is very annoying. I suppose it is because of "-" symbol. If the file is named " Zoom Effect.mp4 " the search will find it. But I have hundreds of effects named like Cartoon-Smoke-Greenscreen-effect.mp4 Can I change it somehow? I simply want the search to work as it used to be in Windows 7.

I've used Windows search many times before. Sometimes it locates completely unexpected files, even if you provide most of the name. I can get 99% of the full name and it won't display it to me.

Windows search is quite problematic. Early tests show PowerToys Run works reasonably well so far.

Back in the early days of XP, finding what you needed was pretty simple. This suggests Microsoft never really got it right.

Open File Explorer. Navigate to the desired folder. Enter the file name you require.
