Yes, having fewer than 16GB of free space on the C drive can halt the update process to the developers' release.

Thanks everyone, but after trying everything I’m still unsure—it might be storage issues. Even with 40GB free on my SSD, I might need a larger one and will share my thoughts here if anything changes.

I just got my new WD Black 512 PCIe SSD and installed Windows. It updates smoothly, and all the broken apps are working again. I can do everything properly now.
