No, nothing works. The only thing one can do is to wait until that stupid update finishesd its course. You can't pause the update indefinitely as you say. You can pause it for max one month, which is almost nothing. Aafter that it comes over you an choke you to death without asking any questions. This is an IDIOT way to do things, for Microsoft. I really hate them. I mean REALLY hate them. if i would lay my hands on that guy who designed that I would beat him until he ask forgiveness for everything that he did wrong in his life (though it wouldn't take too long until he does that LOL) and I would sleep with a clear conscience.

Before version 10, updates were mostly optional and could be disabled easily.
Outcome?
A huge number of botnets and ransomware infections.
For most malware cases over the past ten years, the solution was released before it became a problem. Only systems with updates disabled were impacted.
Customers complained to Microsoft about this.
Fix?
Updates are now mandatory.
Others continue to complain about it.

I completely disagree. I am not a corporation; I am just an individual unrelated to what you said. I don't visit net ice places, and I'm a hardware engineer with 25 years of experience. It's not about complaining here—it's about their policy, which prevents you from stopping them and downloading it whenever you want.

It has no connection to that. The system supports unlimited bandwidth.

I question whether there is anything visible here that could assist with the problem.

I've already attempted that, but it doesn't function. The system stops nearly all your actions on the pc. It seems to completely disable every controller for the hardware it uses.

It's not the hardware guy, I'm saying. I own a powerful setup (i7-8700/32GB RAM/SSD/RTX 3080 Ti etc., all top-notch gear from Corsair/Gigabayte, Asus/MSI, etc.). It's not like that. And I don't trust what someone said here about it being done in ten minutes. It takes ages just to get that annoying Microsoft malware routine, then hours to download gigabytes of data, unpack them, and rewrite everything. I can't even check the Windows update page status in the OS—it either shows an error when the update tries, or it loops forever. I'm furious with Microsoft and their policies.
