Today I reinstalled my PC instead of performing a complete OS update. Everything proceeded smoothly until I attempted to log in. My keyboard and mouse stopped working. I’m using a dual-boot setup, so Linux functions are available while Windows 10 is active, but the hardware doesn’t respond. I discovered that when Windows starts, it disables the front and rear panel ports on the machine. The operating system runs without freezing, but it can’t connect to the internet or recognize any connected devices. I ran diagnostics and a system repair, but nothing resolved the issue. I opted for a reset because I was cleaning files and preparing for a backup service, but Windows 10 felt sluggish—slow features, occasional freezes. The reset helped restore the OS’s performance, allowing me to proceed with backing up important data. I selected settings to preserve personal files and download a fresh Windows copy from the cloud (Cloud Install). There are numerous files to back up, especially business and financial documents. A full reinstall would erase everything. Do you think there’s a way to fix this installation? Are there Linux tools that can help transfer data from the Windows 10 drive to another system? I need guidance on this.

Linux should simply access your Windows storage without extra steps, making it easy to back up data. Regarding the reset issue—no clear answer, but a clean install is often advised. No specific tips available; consider another reset if possible, though it may not be feasible without external tools.
