I thought I updated, but later realized my privacy options were altered. Initially they were off, but after the update they came back on. Some features were missing from the start menu, certain drivers were removed and new ones were added instead. Once the update neared completion, Windows claimed all settings matched the previous state—though that’s not true. It seems it resets your privacy settings and performs a format.

No problem. My privacy options stayed unchanged. My mind is focused on the fact that an update didn’t work, and Windows performed a system restore from before you adjusted your settings. It then retried and installed without issues.

I finished the latest update and it didn’t alter any of my settings that were easy to spot from call history, email, or messaging. The call history/email sections still show up on my other system running Windows 10 without the update, so they must have been added recently. They told me my mouse wasn’t needed anymore and just reinserted it, which fixed the issue. I got access to the Store and Edge browser for a day before both stopped working again.

What graphics card are you using? Have you attempted to update your graphics driver? All recent Windows applications support full GPU rendering. If this doesn't assist, consider creating a new account and testing there. Once confirmed, you can move files between accounts. It may be inconvenient, but it avoids a full reinstall. If your account is linked to Microsoft, ensure it's set up locally first and restart your device; otherwise, Windows may indicate an existing account when you create a new one with the same credentials.

GTX560 paired with 358.91 driver seems fine, just odd that two systems run Windows 10 while one uses the store. The on-board i5 2500k graphics work for some apps, but installing new ones is tough—can’t add any new software easily.

I just verified everything was turned on, except for the location—something people often check first. It makes sense to keep that active. Not a big conspiracy, just a mess or maybe we're the control group.

Barnacules documented identical occurrences. It seems this issue is affecting numerous devices.

I disabled them during the Windows setup, so it seems the rollback didn’t go that deep. A few settings shifted—fast boot was enabled, Ethernet magic packet was unchecked, and still discovering new issues... well, that’s just part of the fun. It’s a joke how they can turn it back on, can’t you?
