A customer shared her experience with an HP Pavilion 11-k122ds x360 11.6" notebook. She reported several issues: frequent Outlook login prompts, touch screen malfunctions, and slow performance. I resolved the login problem first. Then I aimed to create a system recovery image using Windows 10’s built-in feature and back up her important files. After completing those steps, I focused on the touch screen problem, spending many hours without success. Eventually, I suspected an update might have caused the issue. I proceeded with an HP factory restore from a clean state and tested it. The system booted to Windows Recovery but kept failing due to the touchscreen error. I attempted recovery again using my custom image, which prompted a repair DVD request—something I didn’t have at work. After rebooting, I discovered the machine was running Windows 10 via an administrator account, yet it displayed an HP Recovery Incomplete message and logged failures related to the touchscreen. Using Task Manager, I noticed processes stuck during the final boot check, leading to a bootloop. Once home, I created a recovery USB with Windows 10 MediaCreationTool, selected System Image Recovery, but encountered a Volume Shadow Copy Service error—something that had previously worked. I avoided deleting partitions during OS installation and opted to overwrite only the C drive. I considered using Acronis for image creation but never faced issues before. I’m unsure if there’s another oversight.

Strange thing is the first pic says the OS is Win8, and it's not. The machine was shipped with Win10...there's even a spot in the BIOS that says it was shipped with 10...
