I own a Dell G15 15.6" FHD 120Hz Gaming Laptop with Intel Core i7 16GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, running Windows 11.
A few months ago I replaced it with a new one. It used to recognize my headphones when plugged in, but now it doesn’t, though restarting the laptop fixes the issue. Headphones are the only audio source I use, so it’s usually fine—unless they’re accidentally removed or left out while I’m away, then I have to remember to plug them in before turning on the laptop, which I often forget. This problem bothers me a bit.
I tried reinstalling the drivers and checked the Dell website for updates, which showed the drivers were current. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.

Which headphones are you using? How do you link them with your laptop?

Verify if your headphones work with Windows sound even when not detected
Possibly the connection isn't fully secured
Uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers
Test with various headphones
