It's feasible to apply passive PoE without prior power negotiation on switches, delivering continuous power to APs. However, based on the details shared, I'm not certain this approach has been implemented widely, as it doesn't align with standard configurations.

We have Cisco APs and a switch, though I’m not sure of the exact model. It looks like an enterprise device with 24 ports and fiber input. I’m hoping this information is useful. The switch is secured in a high shelf, kind of like it’s in a secure area.

Sure, just plug the PC into the port and see if it functions properly. That confirms it's active PoE.

I tried connecting my PC through the AUX port of the Cisco AP because it wasn't working. I suspected the cable might be damaged, but once I plugged my PC directly into the LAN Box it functioned properly. Now I’m ready to move forward and appreciate the software link—it didn’t fix the problem but allowed me to switch APs easily. It’s a partial solution; I’m still figuring out how to lock it to the correct AP.

There should be a feature to link with a particular AP using its MAC address. Details about the process aren't clear.
