I’ve recently been having weird wifi patterns. It goes from great to horrible and then disconnects and all of this in the space of 5 minutes. I’m only having this problem with my pc (wifi card) and my wifi is stable and above 100mbps. What can I do until I get ethernet?

Start by checking connectivity from your modem/router using 'ping -n 30'. Repeat as needed. This confirms the problem isn’t local. Next, perform pathping tests on a site like Google to see if the issue extends beyond your network.

How near is your computer to the Wi-Fi access point? Which wireless card model are you using? What brand and version does your Wi-Fi device have? Are you employing any signal boosters or repeaters? Have you attempted a router reset?

Will it only show data for that specific moment? Since your speed and ping change a lot, yes. This is your other account.

It's not just about the internet speed you're using; these tools show how long it takes for data to travel and if packets are lost, which can cause problems. Since your connection drops unexpectedly, they can help you figure out whether the issue is with you or your service provider. You might also use a different app for live monitoring during gaming, though it costs money. Other similar options exist, but I can't confirm. For now, testing ping commands is a good first step. link: https://www.pingplotter.com/

It might be worth checking if the latest drivers are properly installed. That could be the cause.

Consider if the problem lies with your setup before trying fixes. Use the ping command to check if latency is acceptable and data packets are flowing smoothly between your device and modem. If everything looks fine, you likely don’t need to update drivers or make other changes.
