The Wi-Fi card vanishes from the device manager on your Asus FX505DT laptop, and the only fix is a specific workaround.
Hey everyone, I've been facing a tricky problem for about two years now. I bought an Asus FX505DT a couple of years ago, it worked just fine until I noticed my Wi-Fi card would vanish and reappear in Device Manager. After some digging, I realized Asus didn't fix it properly, so I swapped it out with a low-quality Realtek card. That fixed things for a while, but the issue kept coming back months later. Eventually, I tried reinstalling Windows, updating drivers, and even changed the BIOS, but nothing stuck. Now I’m left with the same cycle: I have to physically reposition the card, and it keeps showing up as new hardware. It’s frustrating because it happens no matter how I shut down the laptop—sleep or full shutdown. I don’t see any other discussions about this on forums, so I’m not sure if it’s unique to my machine or if there’s a deeper problem with the mainboard. Any advice would be super helpful.
