This morning my internet connection was acting up, so I didn’t give it much thought at first since I wasn’t using it much and it seemed to fix itself when my roommate left for work. But when he returned home it crashed again. I needed it that day, so I checked what he was doing and tried to resolve the issue. After reviewing his task manager and running speed tests, I asked him to disconnect his wireless dongle to prevent any connection. It worked perfectly then. Once we reconnected it, things got unstable once more. We’ve decided the dongle is faulty, but I wondered if others have faced similar problems with wireless adapters affecting the network.

It's possible his setup is compromised and consuming excessive network resources.

He’s actually employing a very lengthy Ethernet connection, which isn’t an issue at all. I had that idea in mind before starting to use the cable.

The device you're referring to is a Wi-Fi adapter or dongle, but its specific model isn't provided in your message. Could you clarify or share more details?

Some folks don’t understand how a single weak link can disrupt everything. When the adapter struggles with weak signals or frequent collisions, it blocks others from using their devices, forcing everyone to wait their turn. It doesn’t have to be that bad, but it happens often.
