The Wi-Fi adapter frequently shuts off unexpectedly.
The Wi-Fi adapter you own often loses connection and isn’t recognized when it powers down. The model you mentioned is an AC1200 USB Wi-Fi adapter (https://www.netgear.com/home/products/ne...a6210.aspx). It’s unclear if the issue lies with the product itself or its quality. If it works fine, consider checking reviews and recommendations for similar models.
By this, do you mean that it disappears from your Device Manager as if the adapter was physically disconnected? Netgear is a reputable brand and, while their network equipment can cause problems, I wouldn't say it's a bad quality product. This is a USB adapter. It needs power from the USB ports in order to work. If you've saturated all of the USB ports on your computer so much so that they're all powering devices, then this can result in insufficient power draw for the WiFi adapter causing it to disconnect momentarily. Also, low power devices like tablet PCs with few USB ports are not always powered or have low power for energy efficiency. Don't put this WiFi adapter on an extension dongle either, especially if other devices are also plugged into the same dongle and drawing their own power.
