The solution involved ensuring the monitor was powered on before booting the PC. This adjustment resolved the issue by altering how the system recognized the monitor's state. The concern stemmed from uncertainty about whether DisplayPort cables transmit data in both directions, which could affect the PC's ability to detect the monitor's presence.

The Display Port link works both ways. With two monitors, Windows needs to know which one is active to function correctly. For certain functions like adaptive sync, a communication level is required, and the PC has supported this for a long time. Even older standards like VGA weren’t completely one-way.

EDID and a monitor's ability to share its specs and condition have existed for about twenty years or more.
