Hi:
I'm using ccleaner to erase my USB flash drive. Once I write 5 GB, the program halts and displays this error:
the volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid.
I've tried various fixes online, but nothing resolved it. The issue persists.

Second drivinfast247 suggestion. On this post I believe it should be clarified why you prefer to "wipe" the usb stick rather than format it. If left unanswered, my assumption is likely that there might be some internal issues with the usb stick, so the OP probably tried an alternative because formatting a damaged storage device may not be effective.
