I attempted to set up Xubuntu on an external drive via VMware. When I didn’t select a physical hard drive as the installation medium, the virtual machine ran smoothly. But if I opted for the “use physical hard drive” setting, I encountered a blank screen with just a cursor. Has anyone faced this problem before? My host system is a laptop equipped with 4 cores, 8 threads, and 12GB of RAM.
