You can configure whatever PoS router Virgin provided you with to operate in modem mode, and use a third-party device for proper routing. However, replacing the "Virgin PoS Box" with the router is essentially not an option I can make. This decision comes from me and my best friend, who thinks it would be better if he didn’t renew with Virgin going forward.

Make sure all settings on the virgin box are activated in modem mode, then connect it straight to the WAN port on the other router. That should resolve the issue.
