Hello! I'm trying to figure out why my footage appears very dark during instant replays. My setup includes a Samsung Odyssey G5 32" monitor at 144Hz with HDR disabled, and my rx vega 64 is using the newest drivers. Have anyone experienced the same problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Are the visuals consistent across recordings? If they match, the problem likely lies in your display settings. If not, the recording program might have an issue.

The display shows consistent results in both replays and recordings. Occasional flickering appears when minimizing and reopening the game, but it quickly returns to normal, making it hard to determine the cause.

If it handles recordings like it does with instant replay, your brightness is likely set too high. When your monitor brightness is much brighter than the game settings, recordings and clips appear very dim—adjust both your monitor and in-game brightness to match for optimal results. This adjustment usually resolves the problem; otherwise, the issue may stem from the recording software itself.

Sure! You can start with beginner-friendly guides or tutorials. Look for simple software tools designed for new users, and don’t hesitate to ask for help when you're unsure.

his case seems quite serious... I’m familiar with this problem, it often occurs in shadowplay, but less so in obs. That suggests the issue isn’t the monitor, because if the recording was color-accurate it shouldn’t appear dark—it should match real gameplay on the same device (which it does for me), though definitely not consistently

Lol most folks will have different opinions, but that’s the general idea. Make sure your GPU displays full RGB and your monitor does too; then reset both to full RGB if possible. If your monitor still has those settings, don’t alter them beyond defaults—just confirm it remains in full RGB mode. On the monitor, adjust brightness between 60-70, saturation around 50, contrast at 55, and color temperature normal or warm. It’s likely you’ve calibrated it properly, even if it doesn’t always fix dark videos (that usually comes from the recording software).

Also, if you’ve set sharpness or similar to the middle value, tweak it accordingly. Here’s a tip I found for your monitor: used ‘custom’ picture mode with ‘custom’ color tone, adjusting RGB to 47/44/50.

You can check calibration guides online—like the one from TFTCentral (link provided)—but remember they’re general tips. Stick to reviews, forums, or similar sources instead of Reddit posts, which might not be accurate.
