The VGA light is on but not functioning properly.
I recently purchased an MSI B550 gaming plus motherboard with a Ryzen 5 5600X. I updated the BIOS using the flash bios button, and everything worked fine. I haven’t seen any display issues since then. My RTX 4060 is powered by a 650W PSU. After updating the BIOS and restarting my PC (after confirming all connections), the status lights went through CPU and RAM indicators before locking onto the boot status light. All components are new except the GPU, which was second-hand from an eBay seller I verified through reviews and ratings—it had only been used once. I’m still trying to figure out what’s wrong after several troubleshooting steps.
You're asking about whether the issue is related to the VGA debug light or the boot light. Let me know if you'd like help identifying which one triggers the problem.
It seems there are some unclear points in your message. Could you clarify what you mean by "only used once"? Have you tried this before? Do you have a backup GPU available, including its make and model? Also, confirm whether you've verified the power cables by disconnecting and reconnecting them at both the PSU and GPU sides.
I managed to access the boot screen occasionally, and both my monitor and cable function properly after testing with my Xbox. I lowered it downstairs onto my TV and it booted straight into the BIOS. Then I brought it back to the monitor, where after several tries it returned to the BIOS again. I performed all standard tasks like adjusting the fan curve and turning on XMP boost. When I clicked X to exit, the PC shut down permanently and won’t boot any screen now. I’m still seeing a message indicating no HDMI connection. To sum up, the GPU works, I can enter the BIOS rarely, I enabled CPU and XMP boost, and excited the BIOS—after that it powers off and only shows black screens. The final video shows a white light with the ID VGA 76039949387__3036DA1F-753B-4E60-BE30-285030A9FAC7.MOV.
Reset CMOS and attempt once more. Should it fail, consider reverting the BIOS version. What is the make and model of your computer? Is it currently booting up or still displaying the VGA light?
