I purchased my 3600X at a price just under its retail cost thanks to an eBay coupon that didn’t include a 3600 but had the 3600X in stock. Unless you’re looking for something comparable, I wouldn’t bother with this model—it lacks the RGB cooler. If you need the AMD Wraith cooler (which is great, even with RGB options), I’d buy it separately on Aliexpress. You can find a Wraith Max for 37 CAD or a Wraith Spire RGB for 30 CAD. The performance boost over the 3600 is minimal, and it’s significantly pricier.

I’d choose an MSi board if I were you. The Ryzen MSi boards seem to offer the best memory compatibility, which is really helpful. I might have picked one if I hadn’t discovered Taichi at the price I got it.

Reliability refers to GPU problems and other unexpected board issues. Mostly, only a handful of boards tend to have these kinds of concerns. The ones that frequently come up are not recommended.

Skip the 2600, push it up to 4.0-4.1GHZ or go with 2700, both costing about 210CAD now.

As discussed earlier, the last BF purchased a 1600 w/x370 model for $149. They also offered a 1700, which I didn’t catch. I’m hoping to find comparable offers this year with the 2000-series.
