The USB mouse isn't detected on five distinct computers?
Dear Experts,
I have a Logitech G305 Mouse that I've tested on 3 laptops and 2 desktops across Windows 10 and 11. On all of them, I'm encountering the message: "USB device not recognized. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." Should I discard the mouse?
Thx
If 5 devices don't like it, I'd consider it faulty, but it's odd you received a message saying it isn't recognized. I expected it to simply fail without any notifications.
The G305 is a wireless mouse, so verify it has sufficient charge. Plug the USB receiver into your computer and activate the mouse power (wireless mice usually have a switch for this). You might also attempt to install Ghub using another mouse for downloading and installation, checking if it recognizes the G305. If none of these steps succeed, the mouse is likely defective.
When you're confident the mouse relies on a disposable battery, consider swapping it out for a new one.
I'm confident and I have two of those mouse white and blue. And the new battery didn't resolve the problem.
Mouse driver(s)? Source? Installation method? When restarting into Safe Mode will the mouse function properly?
Check Device Manager to see if any devices report driver issues.
Also examine Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for mouse or USB-related errors, warnings, or informational messages.
Hello Ralston
I have two mice G305 white and blue, both were working well and I didn’t need to install any drivers.
The white one stopped working, but the blue one is still fine.
I’ll try your suggestions and check the results.
