The USB-C port on your desktop isn't compatible with Apple devices.
Hi everyone, I’m dealing with an unusual issue on my desktop PC. It has an ASUS PRIME Z690-P WIFI D4 with a USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2 port on the back. When I connect an iPad Pro using any USB-C cable, it doesn’t appear in the Windows file manager, yet it charges properly. I’ve used both Apple’s proprietary USB-C 2.0 cable and a UGREEN 3.2 Gen2 cable. The problem seems to be with that specific port—not the cables themselves. If I plug in a USB drive through the same port, transfers happen at about 2.5Gbit/s, which is limited by the drive. My gaming controller also works fine. It might be that the system doesn’t recognize the iPad as a device, or perhaps the drivers aren’t detecting it correctly. Testing on other Windows laptops helped, and switching to a USB-A to C cable resolved the issue. I’ve also tried restarting the Apple device drivers in Windows, but that didn’t help. I’m really puzzled and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
