The USB 3.x flash drive seems to get warm when plugged in, even without any activity. I usually choose drives with plastic bodies, but the SanDisk 64G model with its metal case feels very hot. A USB 2.0 drive works fine in the same port and stays cool during file transfers. Do your USB 3.x flash drives heat up while being used?

I own a USB 3.0x storage device that tends to get warm, though it isn't uncomfortable. I attribute this to its compact size and high power usage similar to other USB 3.x models.

What confuses me is that I'm connected to a USB 2.0 port (5V, 500mA), not the USB 3.x with better performance. Still, the drive remains warm.
