I initially kept my PC setup super minimal with no cable management. Recently, while cleaning out the case, I discovered a chaotic tangle of cables inside. I decided to organize them properly. The process wasn’t easy—I struggled to free the USB 3.0 header from the MOBO and kept encountering similar problems online. Eventually, I managed to remove it, though the plastic pin protector was included with the part. Now I’m having trouble placing that protector because it seems a few pins might be bent. It’s frustrating. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

All connections appear intact and aligned properly. Reattach the plastic, restore power, and pretend nothing occurred. For actual testing, simply reassemble and verify functionality. If successful, handle with extra care next time.

Thanks for the advice! I successfully attached the USB connector directly to the pins, which really helped realign them. It was a bit rough—almost broke the pins multiple times, whether by accident or intention—but now everything looks fine and the cable is back in place. No glue needed.

For anyone facing a similar problem or a stuck header, just push the plastic bit back when it starts to loosen. Avoid just pulling it out after hours of tugging; take your time. Peace.
