I've owned a Netgear AC1750 for several years and it performed well. Recently I've experienced some slowdowns, so I reached out to my ISP who suggested switching to one of their routers since they upgraded me from a 100/100Mbps plan to 500/500Mbps and promised Gigabit speeds soon. They installed a Calix Gigaspire Blast and claimed it outperformed my old setup. Now I'm someone accustomed to speeds under 1Mbps, especially since I work remotely. I regularly test my connections, knowing full-speed results won't come easily. My four Xbox systems still function smoothly with wired or wireless 5GHz/2.4GHz connections. The slowest upload I've seen is in the low 100s, but most games now deliver 2 to 14Mbps, while my X series remains wired and consistently achieves download speeds well above 700Mbps—though uploads often stay single digits. What's even more puzzling is that my Series X, which always works best on wired connections, is now downloading much faster than expected. Meanwhile, I've noticed my ISP claims everything is fine, attributing performance to Microsoft, despite clear evidence of low upload speeds across all devices. I recently upgraded to an Asus RT-AX82U; its Wi-Fi coverage is excellent throughout the house. The Xbox still struggles with uploads, though downloads remain strong on laptops and gaming PCs. The router is currently downstairs because I'm working from home, and my daughter can use her PC between 150-200Mbps download and 100-150Mbps upload for a day. On the Xbox, however, downloads match PC performance but uploads stay in single digits. I feel confused as I've found another user on an old Xbox support forum reporting the same problem. Interestingly, plugging in my old Netgear restored normal upload speeds. In the router interface, I can track the Xbox's data usage—it shows minimal upload activity. How is this possible with four consoles and a mostly wired setup? Previously, with my Netgear, upload speeds were under 225Mbps, but now both new routers consistently hit around 14Mbps.
