I upgraded my gaming PC with a friend who often does builds, but the fun turned to frustration when he keeps crashing or resetting during tough games like AC Mirage or R6 Siege within half an hour. I don’t know the exact reason yet.
Specs: Ryzen 7 5800x, 32gb RAM, RX 7800XT
Eventviewer reports: An irrepairable hardware error from Processorcore.

Replaced the PSU with be quiet! straight power 12 850W.
However the crashes remain, but its now clear why; CPU overheating
Thermal paste is ok (redone twice), and from what I find online this is a fairly typical issue with this cpu.

Was it necessary to perform a complete system reset and install the updated components?
Using a 240mm AIO with a CPU, it's clear the temperatures remain stable and within normal ranges.
So atm shows only the boxed air cooler inside it, after we used the AiO for some testing (see link). Temperatures will fall to 35-40 when idle completely, but a bit of load will quickly bring it up to 60. Certain games can easily exceed 85, with Mirage staying around 91. At the time I turned off xmp, it didn’t cause a crash or overheating in a limited test, though it still reached 90. I logged this issue yesterday with a non-heat related crash. That cooler isn't going to handle the CPU load, so it might make sense to reduce the PPT to around 85-95W until you have better cooling. With two 3200 DRAM sticks, XMP should work fine. I also checked some documentation and it seems these problems could be linked to the power plan. You might want to try turning off global c-states to see if that helps.
