I recently changed my CPU from a Ryzen 5600X to a 5700X3D on an Asrock B550M Steel Legend motherboard. I'm using the newest firmware to ensure compatibility.
After switching, my CPU performance feels excellent—restarting the PC and starting a game gives me outstanding framerates for the whole session.
But if I pause or wait too long after restarting, my CPU speeds seem to double. Hwinfo64 doesn’t show any issues—no throttling detected, and core speeds remain consistent.
I’m feeling confused and unsure what’s happening. Some people suggest a reset might help, and that’s something I’ve considered.

Remove all processor entries from the Device Manager in Windows, after which restart the operating system.
