If you're working, then it's good. It provides a significant performance boost. Just avoid purchasing new RAM unless you need both systems to run smoothly. A capacity of 3200 is acceptable.

I've just moved from the 2700X to the 3900X. Any questions? I might be able to run some bench tests for you if they're available. I don't have the 2700X installed to compare directly.

If you have funds, why not use 3950x and reduce render time to 15 hours?

My 3700x now reaches about 2200, a roughly 25% improvement—worth considering for heavy rendering tasks. The extra cores in the 3900 or 3950 could be beneficial once you're in that demanding environment.
