Forza Horizon 4 is launching on Steam (good news!), and I’m considering purchasing it. I used the free trial in the Microsoft Store, and the game looks appealing enough to justify buying it. However, the download process was quite annoying. Now that it’s available on Steam, does this indicate Microsoft is permitting UWP apps from other retailers? Or are they releasing a Windows 32-bit version instead? Either way, it suits my preferences. — Ash_Kechummm (Feb 10, 2021)

It looks like the MCC matches the version available on Steam, likely using a win32 architecture. Forza should follow a similar design based on this information.

Seems like a Windows 32-bit program running without the UWP encryption feature. It’s unclear whether the game’s archives will remain protected, but it’s unlikely this app would have been a Steam UWP version.
