The system is beyond salvaging then. There is something in the UEFI/BIOS ubuntu doesn't like and until you can get in there and change that out, it will not boot an Alt-OS

The server has known problems: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sourc...ug/1766286. It seems the fix should be done soon, likely because the error relates to the EFI boot manager. Formatting the drive first might help you start fresh. Not being able to see BIOS or boot options makes it even harder.
