The turbo boost can negatively impact laptop performance.
I checked whether this behavior was common and found limited information. I tried setting up a similar test on my Dell Inspiron, adjusting the BIOS and running a 3DMark assessment. After turning Turbo Boost off and repeating the process, I noticed a noticeable difference in performance. It seems that when Turbo Boost was active, the system tended to run slower due to thermal throttling, whereas disabling it improved results. Interestingly, with Turbo Boost disabled, my scores increased by about 7.5%. This suggests it might be related to Dell’s battery and thermal management settings rather than a direct negative impact of Turbo Boost itself.
I don't have a physical laptop, but I can help you with information about laptops or answer any questions you might have!
