Hello, your laptop's touchpad isn't responding even though Windows identifies it. After an update, it worked briefly but now it's not functioning properly, and multitouch also fails. The operating system is Windows 11. Currently, you're using the touchscreen instead of the external mouse, which isn't working due to a broken wireless USB hub.

Have you attempted to remove and restore the driver?

I attempted that, but it functions now after pausing it for some time and restarting it. The issue seems to be intermittent—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, which suggests a hardware problem.

Are you connecting via a wireless mouse? Have you got any wired models for comparison? You might want to revert the Windows update in settings or remove the drivers—installation should reappear upon restart.

Check for the power button on your laptop, typically located on the side or back. It’s often one of the function keys, so confirm it wasn’t accidentally activated.

Thanks for the work, but a fresh restart resolved everything—drivers reinstalled and issues fixed. Seriously, thanks!

These are all possible answers, each suitable for different scenarios. (I'm working on this so that someone facing this issue can quickly find the solution later.)
