The touchpad malfunctions unexpectedly.
I own a Dell Inspiron 14 Plus and have been experiencing issues since purchasing it about six months ago. I've reached out to Dell several times for help, but the main problem now is my touchpad stopping unexpectedly. I can still click but not move the cursor. To resolve this, I have to turn off the laptop, log in again, and it works. I've tried reinstalling drivers, disconnecting Bluetooth devices, and even following advice from others online, but nothing has helped. I believe the issue isn't hardware-related since I'm very careful with my device and haven't had any liquids or food inside. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
Are you employing an authentic Dell power adapter? I encountered difficulties with a refurbished Dell machine, which ended up using an older non-Dell charger. The previous model matched specifications and functioned properly, but the latest charger caused significant touchpad problems upon connection. Does this issue continue when using battery power? Do you possess a specific Fn key combination that disables the touchpad? Is the touchpad operational if you activate F12 at startup and enter BIOS settings? Is it turned off in the BIOS configuration?
