A friend has asked you to examine his Toshiba Satelitte C50-B-13N laptop. It's been in his hands for around 11 years. The battery can't hold a charge anymore, so it's always connected. He mentioned unplugging it and moving it to another room, but now it won't start. You now own it at your place. When plugged in, an orange charging light appears. Pressing the power button turns the light off, the fan starts and continues spinning but doesn't activate. No error beeps are heard, and the screen remains blank. I've connected it to an external monitor via VGA and HDMI, but nothing displays. I removed dust from the back, but the fan was mostly clean. The thermal pad on the CPU seems fine. I took out the RAM, reinserted it, and reassembled everything, yet it still won't boot or show anything. Could it be a motherboard issue?
lol. he mainly relies on it for 3d printing these days. probably I should take the drive out so he can get his files back or store them in a usb caddy.
The slicing tools for 3D printers are quite basic.
They don’t offer complete CAD functionality.
