Hey, if you're new to PC and haven’t played much yet, the Total War series and Civ VI sound like solid picks. There are also other RTS titles worth checking out—look for games with deep strategies and engaging gameplay. What style do you enjoy most?

for a compelling tale, try the StarCraft series—begin with episode one and continue all the way through to the conclusion of StarCraft II.

There are two main types of RTS games in my opinion. One involves intense battles with large forces, where units are treated like personal soldiers and you simply replace them when they're gone. The other focuses on detailed, strategic gameplay where each unit is valuable and meaningful. The Total War series stands out for the clash style, while Company of Heroes is a great choice for more intimate, tactical experiences.

There is no the best RTS on PC. There is many good RTS games though. adding more into the list. Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War series - First one is old school C&C like RTS games. Base building and all that shits. - Second one is COH like RTS games. Capture capture capture. - Third one is a mixed of 1st and 2nd with MOBA twist. (Many hated this) Syrian Warfare - Single player only. Ashes Of The Singularity:Escalation - Different kind of large scale battles. - Might takes times to learn and enjoy. - Old school style RTS. Wargame Series

Age of Empires, Command & Conquer, and Warcraft 2 are the games I’d begin with... They’re the ones I tried out back then.

In my view, Warcraft 3 TFT stands out as the top RTS game ever created, and it laid the foundation for DotA and other mobile games. Age of Empires would rank as my second favorite.

It's unlikely. War3 resembles an RTS/RPG blend similar to Spellforce...

I'm sure you're referring to the campaign. And restating, it is in my opinion
